Did you ever wonder what was under our feet in the sand, in the clay, in the dirt, or in other substrate? I know that I have. I always wondered how the dinosaurs lived and how their ancestors picked up where they left off. I am a huge science fan and I am collector, as well. Thames and Kosmos created such fun kits that are great for children over seven and adults of any age. They allow you to use your steady hand to dig up some pieces that are sure to wow as you wait in awe to see what you may have found.
There are so many different kits to choose from and they are all unique in their own way.
We decided to have a party where everyone got to try out their own kit and everyone was also required to "dig up" a dish from their kitchen to bring as part of our potluck meal to eat at the party. It was neat because we got a chance to speak about our meals that we dug up in conjunction with the fossils that we dug up. It seemed to me that the best part was looking for a shark tooth in one kit. After we did in fact find one, we headed out to the bay to look for a shark tooth and did not find anything, but had a blast doing so. This was an extremely interactive party that got us outside looking in the ground after using our kits. I would definitely recommend these kits to anyone who loves discovering fossils and minerals.
